The Phocos BCM is an innovative charger for AA batteries.
It charges at constant current and limits the voltage to avoid overcharging the batteries.
It is possible to charge batteries of different capacities and from different manufacturers, as well as being able to charge one, two, three or four batteries at a time.
The peculiarity of this battery charger is that it offers different connection methods to the photovoltaic system.
With a particular configuration, you can recharge AA batteries only with excess energy from the solar panel, for example when the main battery of the 12V system is already charged.
By connecting your input directly to the photovoltaic panel, the AA batteries will only be charged during the day, but will not draw energy from the 12V battery.
By connecting the BCM directly to the main 12V battery, the AA batteries will always be charged but will discharge the main 12V battery.
It is suitable for charging NiMeH and NiCd type batteries.
