TRUMA

It recognizes the filling level of your cylinders.

The practical LevelCheck indicates quickly and reliably via LED whether there is still liquid gas in the measuring area. To measure, simply place the device on the gas cylinder - keeping it horizontal.

Reliable measurement by ultrasound. With integrated LED flashlight.

Not suitable for refillable cylinders.

For all steel and aluminium cylinders with a diameter of 200-350 mm.

PRACTICAL ADVICE

To measure, hold the LevelCheck horizontally to the wall of the gas cylinder, at an angle as close to 90° as possible. The filling level is detected by an ultrasonic signal. If there is liquid gas in the measuring range, the signal is transported and reflected on the opposite wall of the cylinder (echo effect). If the measurement was possible, a green LED lights up and a clear acoustic signal sounds. If, however, there is no gas at the height of the measuring point, the signal is not transported and there is no echo effect. In this case, the red LED lights up and a low-pitched acoustic signal sounds.

Important! To ensure that the measurement is always reliable, the measuring head should be cleaned regularly with a damp cloth (without cleaning agents). A dirty measuring head can impair the measurement results. Particles of dust often remain on aluminum cylinders in particular, which significantly interfere with the measurement process. It is generally difficult to measure the contents of dirty or rusty gas cylinders. The measurement can be impaired, for example:

  • from a rusty spot not visible inside the cylinder
  • from a very thick coat of paint on the outside of the can
  • with stickers on the external walls of the cylinder
  • from condensation (ice) on the external walls of the cylinder
  • on dented or badly scratched cylinders.

It is often sufficient to clean the cylinder or perform the measurement in another position to obtain the desired result. It is not possible to perform the measurement on plastic cylinders (because the signal is not reflected), gas tanks or refillable cylinders (due to internal components that deflect the signal).

How can I know if the measurement result is reliable?

One indication is a relatively short measuring time (1-2 seconds). In this very short measuring time, the device is able to recognize a clear signal and the indication (green) for the full or (red) for the empty area is practically reliable. If the measuring time is longer (between 3 and 10 seconds), the signals are not clear; the red LED lights up (measurement error) and the measuring process is interrupted. Additional note: When measuring completely full cylinders, measurement errors may occur in the lower area, since the echo is only reflected to a limited extent towards the distant surface of the liquid gas.
